The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Happy memories
We're the rennees here we come
One two three and up your bum
Ah they don't make them like these days! I must track down their song Wandering Stars
Once saw them playing at The Hope and Anchor in Islington, a happy memory indeed. Me and my then girlfriend were up in town and had nowhere to stay. After the gig we were wandering down a pre-gentfried Upper St and went into a Kebab shop, got chatting to an Irish girl working there and she offered as a room in her squat for the night. Thank you Charlie from the Shankhill wherever you are.

Excellent. Now that is a happy memory indeed. Wherever she is I hope that Charlie is doing fine
