Britons fear end of world is nigh

Britain has woken up today with the feeling that Birnam Forest has come to Dunsinane - and surely the end of life and everything we know will follow shortly.

It was a shock that Andy Murray reached his first Wimbledon final thus becoming the first  human to reach the men's singles final since David Icke's reptile people took over the earth in 1862.It was a double shock that Jonathan Marray, a Briton nobody seems to have heard of has reached the men's doubles final - the first time that this has happened since the Chicxulub impact caused Wimbledon to be suspended for a couple of weeks.

After such a long time without a British male reaching a Wimbledon final (Sorry Jamie Murray Jeremy Bates and John Lloyd, nobody seems to count the mixed doubles) many Britons are wondering indeed if this is a portent of Doomsday with extra weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Good luck to Jonathan and Andy. I really do hope Andy Murray wins. It must be a complete pain in the arse to hear his brother taunt him with his own Wimbledon win

It being Wimbledon Time again

Will Young Mr Murray be the first Scotsman to win Wimbledon since Angus Podgorny? Or will we be eaten by cannibal blancmange impersonators

Okay it was the Mixed Doubles but..

Jamie Murray became the first Briton for 20 years to win a senior title at Wimbledon. He and Serbian Jelena Jankovic took the mixed doubles title. Murray became the first Briton to do so since Jeremy Bates and Jo Durie won the title in 1987. They beat Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Australian Alicia Molik 6-4 3-6 6-1.

An elated Murray said: "I don't know if it's sunk in, but it feels pretty good." Jankovic, who is ranked number three in the world as a singles player said "It's really an incredible feeling for me to be there and to hold the trophy... It's something that I always dreamed of, and I would love one day to have that feeling with the singles trophy."

Congratulations to both of them on their win although I can only imagine Jamie's brother was frustrated at missing Wimbledon himself
