Malve Silvestris - Mallow
The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

More Flower and Cat Pictures
After a pretty wet May the sun is out with a vengeance and the temperature is in the upper 20s (low/mid 80s in Farenheit). As a result the garden is blooming with a vengeance. I took these photos this morning. The colours are as is but I have cropped a couple of the pictures a little. Even the common flowers like the Nigella add charm and since they self seed everywhere we save on new purchases (we do that anyway by growing most things from seed now).

Good post. We can certainly see, summer is finally here. Flower's blooming, nice pictures of your pet, certainly lightens up the day. Thanks.
Thanks for your comment Obokun. I have few artistic talents (I can't sing dance, act, draw, pain, sculpt or play a musical instrument apart from a couple of chords) but the garden does allow a little creativity. While I am not much of a photographer, I think I have captured some of the plants in bloom fairly well if I say so myself!
Gorgeous pictures. I've never seen Nigella before, but I'm certain it would wither and die after a day in the Texas sun. Much like how I feel after spending the day outside too.
I garden because my kids have destroyed my house. I lost the desire and budget for continuous painting and wallpapering, only to see it ruined. It's gratifying to work on a project that isn't demolished right away.
Thanks for the comment. You never know about Nigella, it is originally from the Mediterranean so it might have a chance under the Texas sun. On the other hand it might just burn!
I forgot to mention that grays and calicos are my favorite felines. Mimi is a fine specimen. I really love those yellow eyes. We have a dog but I consider myself to be more of a cat person. I like their intuitive nature, and that they're generally low maintenance.
Sadly little Mimi doesn't have a gene pool, it is more of a damp smear. She is a very happy cat but she is very small and has a disorder called Cerebellar Hypoplasia - she has very poor balance and can't jump. She toddles rather than walks and she has head tremors. That said she is an extremely happy cat who has adjusted to her disabilities. While she is high maintenance vet-wise (had to take the day off work to take her to have skin problems treated) she has a good quality of life.
To gossip like this, Jams! Mimi is beautiful, as for me: after two bottles I have a very poor balance, I can't jump, and a bottle is enough to have those head tremors...Do you thinks our pets are SO proud of us? Be grateful we don't always understand what they say...Imagine Mimi blogging.....
LOL redwine, I daresay she would CATalogue all my deficiencies as a human!
What's this about WE grow most things from seed? When have you ever opened a seed packet? I do all the work, you just prance about with your camera!
Hello dear!
Damn you have me rumbled mistress!
