I'm not too keen on this. Looks like the artist internalized an Oscar Wilde habit and consumed a crapload of absenthe while sculpting.
Really, I hate the wavy lines and non-descript face. It's bordering on abstract art.
It reminds me of Michael Gambon who played Wilde in a tv series in the mid 80s.
It isn't a particularly attractive piece, I do agree. WHat I liked about it was the texture and the lines, rahter hant the overall look.
It still reminds me of Ernest Hemingway on a particularly bad day.
Oooh dear! I agree it isn't a very flattering picture of Wilde but he wasn't an oil painting in the first place!
