The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
LOL Ewbl.. you could have a barbie on the eye itself... but what is steak sauce??? Eating out has gotten far better here over the years.. If you come to London Steve,, you would love Brick Lane for curries!
EWBL - I love it! We ought to build it if it doesn't already exist! Mexican food is my second favorite "ethnic" cuisine (after Indian, but only barely... and Asian food ranks right up there, too).
jams, there's a similar street in Houston called Hillcroft. For about a mile, there are Indian restaurants (among clothing shops, grocers, insurance and travel agents, etc.) on both sides of the street. It's a 15-minute drive from here; Stella and I go often to one or another of the Indian restaurants... there is great variety, thanks to a large Indo-Pak community here.
Wow Roger...Now that view has changed: the old DTI buildings in Marsham Street, aka the ugly sisters, (the ones that appeared wrapped up) have gone. It's now the site of new Home Office HQ

YOu know, I've never gone up the Eye.. typucal resident who has all these things at hand and never visits them!
I'll pass on the London Eye and go straight for a delectable London Broil instead, thank you. Please pass the A1 steak sauce.
Why eat steak in London when you have some of the world's finest Indian cuisine at your disposal? :)
