The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Wordless Wednesday - Hairy
This week's Wordless Wednesday features hairy things - hairy string, hairy plant stems and a very hairy fly
Thanks all. Chris, the photos was taken with with the "very vivid" colour seting which boosted the colour. I did adjust contrast and brightness a little too.
Incredibly detailed! I can't wait until I get a better camera. What kind do you use? (I know that the quality of the photo also depends on the skill of the photographer - but I'm hoping that a better camera can help even someone like me! LOL)
Mama Pajama, the key things about any camera are accurate metering and good quality optics. A lot of functions that come with cameras are a waste of time. A good entry level Digital SLR like a Nikon D40 would be a great camera to have.
Shrijnana, I use a Nikon D200. THe photos was taken with a macro lens and a ring flash
I was a little worried when I read you were taking pictures of your fly, jams...... I was like, "What is The Poor Mouth resorting to for higher ratings??!!?"

You know ...flies are some ugly creatures. I could never watch the horror movie, The Fly because I truly think that flies are some ugly creatures.
...but, it does make for a great WW photo! Thanx for visiting my WW photos today.

That's a cool picture. But it makes me reach for the fly swatter. Dang flies are the bane of my existence right now.

Great picture! Glad the fly is up;not down.
Hubby has a *very* good camera, maybe I should 'nick' it and experiment a little?
Oh *groan* Yukko! I hate flies!

Terrific shot!
Look its Vincent Price reincarnated.
The fine hairs like projections enable flies to climb walls and hang upside down.
Thanks for all your oohs and ewws!
