A pervert’s monster excuse

A man who claims that he was molested by Bigfoot as a child was ordered to serve 20 years in prison yesterday for his own molestation-related activities. Gene R. Morrill, 57, of New Ipswich, New Hampshire, had pleaded guilty to 20 charges stemming from his efforts to solicit 13-year-old boys over the Internet.

According to the Freelance Star, Defence Attorney Terrence Patton cited Morrill's mental health issues in seeking leniency from Judge J. Howe Brown.
Morrill reportedly told an investigator preparing his pre-sentence report that he had been sexually assaulted by the legendary Bigfoot. Patton said Morrill really believes the assaulted happened. "I've had a few that have claimed abuse, but never by a mythical creature," said Stafford County Detective Darryl Wells, who has built the case against Morill one online chat at a time. "He is a sexual predator that targets children," says Wells.

According to the evidence presented by prosecutor Jim Peterson, Morrill was one of several out-of-state online predators identified last year by Detectives Darryl Wells and John Chapman. Morrill was convicted of five counts of attempting to take indecent liberties with a child, five counts of using electronic equipment to solicit a juvenile and 10 counts of reproducing child pornography.

Hmm, shomehow, for the next decade or two getting molested by Sasquatch is perhaps the least of his worries....

Your last paragraph says quite a bit.

Dealing with charges of sexual molestation of children is a bit like dealing with charges of murder, in at least one aspect: in both cases, a guilty party is surely bound to be insane in the casual sense of the term.

And yet people actually commit those crimes. The crimes cannot be ignored, and those who commit them cannot be allowed to roam free in society.

The difference is that in the case of child molestation, the guilty party can be a repeat offender even against the same child.

You, jams, know that I oppose the death penalty in all circumstances, yet I do not see any way around locking up convicted sexual predators for effectively the rest of their physically adult lives. I'm not saying it makes no difference if they were abused themselves as children (though... Sasquatch? gimme a break!), but I don't see any way around confining them for the protection of children they have targeted and may yet target.

He needs to ensure his soap is tied to a piece of rope. Child molesters are a waste of oxygen. The follow on effects of being molested can be felt for years, decades after. The filthy swines are deserved of the death penalty even though it don't take away what happened.

If child molesters are viewed in american prisons as they are in British ones Ren, then his fellow cons will probably give him a mierable time..if hes not in a segregation area, that is.

I am with you on the death penalty Steve. Much as they disgust me, they need to be locked up for the protection of others. It may be possible to rehabilitate some but in the confines of prison.

They utterly sicken me too Nunyaa. Much as I loathe them I do not support the death penalty, even for this sort of scum

Lesson Learned:Do not bend over to pick up stuff you drop in the forest. Big Foot may be there just watching and waiting for his chance to strike.
