Clara view, Millstreet

Just back from my first holiday in Ireland in 9 years. We stayed just outside of Millstreet (about 40 miles from Cork and 20 from Killarney. My mother gew up in this small town) in a house called Clara View. The view of Claragh (at just under 1500 feet it's not much of a mountain, I know, but it's a splendid sight and the perfect respite from suburban life

You get striped skies in the south? Very pretty though.

As far as Blogger is concerned the sky is striated in Cork Dragonstar!

Ah Aileni my knowledge of Gaelic is just a few words...

Not too cold Nunyaa... it very rarely snows but it is bloody wet!

Oh it certainly was Betmo. Virtually no traffic and the only sounds at night were the odd dog barking from farms and houses up the road

Ah the green "hills" of Ireland. Did it rain all the time you were there? I spent the wettest July on record in Ireland at the time, no doubt surpassed since 1960!

Still a very beautiful place to visit.

Welcome back, Jams. Bet the time was too short plus running too fast.

Ah jmb Millstreet and rain normally go hand in hand but this week it stayed dry, mercifully!

It was a great holiday and long overdue Cherie

It went far too fast Sean!
