British jobs for American models

The BNP may demand "British jobs for British workers," but not when it comes to its election leaflets. According to the Independent a photograph portraying "British" builders are not home-grown: they are from Oregon, in the United States. So much for the claim the the BNP "will protect British jobs... every time"

A BNP spokesman said the models had been paid on the understanding that "their image could be used in any legal manner". He added: "You can't get real supporters to do this, as there are strict rules regarding the depiction of people in genuine professions... [like] the police as well as the clergy."

Hmm perhaps it was better than paying a few of their knuckle dragging supporters to put on hard hats and arse-revealing work trousers. I suppose they didn't want to frighten the horses...

Mocking the Nazi vermin is a bit like shooting fish in a barrel. Yet I fear that the backlash against the mainstream parties will send one or more BNP scumbag to Europe. I can only hope that voters are not stupid enough to elect them.

Well, somebody has to entertain that Italian fascist lady, Alessandra Mussolini in EU parliament.

Well I suppose there is that....

Never, ever underestimate how stupid the average voter can be -- in any country! There are multi-term Congress Critters here across the pond who are living, breathing testimony.

Sadly so, Kay, sadly so!

I'm sure that's the first and only inconsistency in BNP policy. Ever.

;)

Of course AFM! Sadly for all of their bullshit people think they are an appropriate protest vote

Or some people, anyway

In some cases, Kay, they are living, MOUTH-breathing testimony! But if you can think of a better way to pick 'em than by election, you probably need to re-examine your political philosophy. I believe it was Jefferson who spoke of informing the voters' discretion; I think that is the only approach open to us if we want a representative government instead of a parental state.

jams, we've had a bit of minor-party involvement on this side of the pond, to no one's advantage I'm afraid. But for better and worse, the mainstream parties always pull through. I'm confident Labour will preserve.

(By the way, there was a similar incident here a while back, in which, if I recall, a GOP mailer featured an unposed photo of a very solemn-looking military man... in a Canadian uniform. Oops!)

Styeve, although it can be adjusted (proprtional representation etc) the system we have in the UK and US is basically right. I still wish that some of our politicians were not such huge wankers though!

The main wory at teh moment is that the level of discontent with teh main parties will leadd to protest votes and the BNP are sure to pick up some of those viootes. with PR in Euro elections there is a chance they wil get seats.

That said I cannot see a political earthquake that will sweep away the main parties. Labour will abide even if it gets a drubbing at the next general election

the GOP showing a soldier in Canadian uniform? Oops!
