The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
The holly and the ivy, When they are both full grown, Of all the trees that are in the wood, The holly bears the crown.
Oh, the rising of the sun, And the running of the deer; The playing of the merry organ, Sweet singing in the choir.
(Yes, I'm full of English Christmas music; I have been so for at least 40 years. I'll spare you the other dozen stanzas of that one, but your intense photo inspired me to sing aloud.)

Very good. Where do I click "like"?
Ah Steve you could have gone on and on!
Snoopy you have the choice of asinine prolix or puerile!
I love the contrast between the red a black.
Thanks Cherie!
