The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
That is the most exciting looking poppy I've seen in my life.
What I really came on here to say was a belated thank you for the taxi ride the other day. Still stunned by the price, embarrassed by my paltry contribution to it and can't believe the cabby lived south of the river.
Flesh, you're welcome You were on my way home anyway and there was no way I was getting on a sodding night bus.. just too old, fat and weak bladdered for that sort of shenanigans these days!

I;m glad you liked the poppy.
Beautiful. I love how it appears disembodied, as though floating.
Thanks Stan!
Beautiful, beautiful! I'm very much enjoying this batch of flower shots. I'd put this on my wall.
