1984 - BBC's version from 1954

Embedding has been disabled but it is well worth going here
to see the BBC's 1954 dramatisation of 1984. It stars Peter Cushing as Winston Smith and Donald Pleasance as Syme. The adaptation is by Nigel Kneale, best known for giving the world Quatermass

I've bookmarked the link for watching tomorrow. It was a great story yet I've long thought that Huxley's Brave New World may come a bit closer to what we see around us now.

Both are great works Susan. I would also suggest Yevegeny Zamyatin's We which predates both books.

Perhaps someone should come up with Soma and then there would be no discontent!
