The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

That is a nice portrait of him. I was just reminiscing the other day about am old dog who passed away about the same time.
That's a formidable looking cat with more muscle than fluff.
Bryan beat me to the use of the word "formidable"; that was my first thought. There was a cat like Oscar in my neighborhood when I was growing up. Nothing... and no one... challenged that cat!
Thanks Digital. He was a handsome but friendly fellow
Formidable is a good word for him. He was fairly small but he was very strong
He has a decidedly "don't mess with me" look, but I bet he enjoyed his fussing too. He lived to a good age.
That is anexcellent description of Oscar! He also would purr for ages
Are you sure this is not a picture of
Mimi on steroids?
I shudder to think what steroids would do to poor little Mimi!
She would probably miss the litter box in greater distances and in greater volume.
Haha I think you're right there!
