The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Great shot. I love the film "The Dish". You must see it if you haven't yet. I also love Wallace and Gromit, so thanks for the heads up on the new film. I suppose it'll take us longer to get it over here in the U.S. But I'm looking forward to it.

Hi Jams, that is a nice picture. I have always wanted to tour a radio telescope facility but never made it. I did work at an Air Force Satellite Tracking station way back when that had a 60 foot dish. It was never configured to be a telescope antenna but we did put it on the ham bands occasionally.Happy WW! I am very late today...
