The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Two songs by Jane Siberry
Two Canadian winners below, two canadian songs here! I don't think I've posted these two videos before. If I have enjoy them again. Both songs are from Jane Siberry's finest work When I was a Boy. It also contains her best known song Calling All Angels but I prefer these songs to that one
Iran, Trafigura and Vulture Funds and the scum that administer to follow tomorrow

OOooh, I like Jane! Talented and original, isn't she? Did you know she recently gave away her possessions and renamed herself "Issa"?

I think I'm going to keep my possessions and continue calling myself Knatolee/Natalie. :)
I had heard of teh Issa thing. THat's her choice but I think I'll leep my things and house too!
It would be tough to give up your house and stuff. That is all you have other than your family.
Thanks for introducing me to Jane Siberry. Heard of her, but never heard her.
Did she do this as Jane or Issa?
Glad to be of service Colin
These were as Jane rather than Issa. When I was a Boy was released in the early 90s
hmmm. I am not sure if she is my cup of tea....
I am not too fond of repetitive lyrics... I also did not find the music at al original... sorry Jams... :(
To each their own Nevin!
I LOVE Jane Siberry. I always feel like I'm one of only a few people in the world who have even heard of her! A lot of people know the song Calling All Angels because it was in the movie Pay It Forward but rarely does anyone remember her name, let alone know any other songs by her. I love the song about the cow; actually I think there are two songs about Bessie. But that's me - a penchant for the odd and quirky!
You made my day here!
Some of her stuff sounds dated in my view (the same can be said about many artists( but When I was a Boy is truly a great album
