The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Decided on a name for new cat - Jack!
Well if Ted was a lack and white cat named after Father Ted then Father Jack would provide the perfect name for his replacement!
Keeps my Jack flame alight, too. :) My Jack was originally called Kojak at the cattery, because he was a 'bald' Cornish Rex. (Dr Evil's mascot after the loss of fluff strikes quite a resemblance.) I wanted him to have a 'regular' 'Christian' name though, so Jack seemed a good compromise. How exciting for you and Shirley. And the other cats too, I should think.
