The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Did he make it out of the house
I'm glad he eats well. That's about the only pleasure old people (I mean: old cats) can really enjoy.
Bless him! While he can eat well he can enjoy life.
Ah he doesn't go much further than his food bowl these days Beak
Ah that he does Claude!
Indeed Dragonstar.Once he stops eating we will know it is the end.
Awww! Bless :-)
He's still a gentle old chap
Food is life, so as long as he has an appetite, no matter what he looks like, he is doing fine.
As you note, when the appetite goes, the will goes with it.
My senior cat doesn't go far, but he responds instantly to the opening of a can.
Oh God does he respond to the food pouches opening! While he does that we will know he's okay
