The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Spider and Wasp
A Garden Spider with what looks like the remains of a wasp. It really is the season for spiders. There are webs everywhere in the garden. I am glad I am not an arachnophobe
I'll title this picture, "Going Back For Leftovers." Somewhere a spider baby is complaining that they want to go out to eat instead of eating what they had last night.
And the spider would tell them that in her day they would ahve been delighted to have wasp!
Actually there are tones of spiders in teh garden, the recent warm then wet weather seems to have caused an explosion in their population.. Doesnt bother me but an arachnophobe would be unhappy!

Amazing. It's such a classic conflict. The overbearing spider approaches its helpless prey. And you capture it perfectly.
Thanks Dave! I will be trying to get better images over the weekend. I love my garden spiders - they have their function and they do it so well.

My spidey senses are tingling!
