The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

A Broccoli Ocarina
A little while ago Steve over at Yellow Doggerel Democrat posted a video of the Vegetable Orchestra. You Tube has a wonderful collection of musical vegetables. With Steve in mind I proudly present a well loved carol on an ocarina made out of broccoli. Enjoy!
ROTFL... thanks, jams! Considering my main performing instrument, the one I taught in the Music Department of U. of St. Thomas (Houston), was recorder, I am very fond of anything that has a fipple.
I'd hate to have to play the broccoli ocarina when it was a few days past its prime...

A vegetable ... err ... veritable feast for eyes and ears, Jams. :)
Thanks for sharing.
Well that is really clever it reminds me of the bamboo pipes I used to make!
I am just wondering what ever gave him the idea in the first place ;-)
Ha Sean, glad you liked it!
It's pretty inventive isn't it Cherie? There is a whole orchestra of musical veg. I wouldn't have thought of using broc or even a mushroom!
