The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
Just listened again to this and to 'Stones'. How to explain? My ears like 'Lady Lazarus' better, which has nothing to do with the stories been told. It's the flow of the words, the modulation, the lower voice - quite amazing a difference. Wonder if it's only my impression.
Anyway, Jams, thanks for sharing. As jmb and you remarked in the comment section to 'Stones', it's great that such gems are being made available.
It's a marvellous poen isn't it. I love Plath's delivery. I'm certainly gald that these have been amde available on yuoutube.. I'm not sure about teh copyright issue though
