Boris - the grounding continues

We thought that keeping Boris in in the evening would cure him of his excursions to see Izzy the Mastiff (the crossing of a busy road being the issue, not his affection for a huge dog)... WRONG!

All he did was head out later and wait for Izzy's late evening walk. Now he's grounded at night too. Hopefully he will forget about long trips or perhaps a love that dare not purr its name will find a way yet....

Never known a human to beat a determined cat. Why not arrange supervised visits over at your place?

I think you have a difficult task on your hands there...

Cancel my suggestion. It's a stupid idea (I am a human remember). The love would just grow. However much you disapprove of this affair I'd really like to see a photo of the two of them snuggled up together.

Ah! A tunnel Jams, just big enough for Boris but nowhere near big enough for the mastiff. It's the only way (or a bridge I suppose, but that would require planning permission. So would a tunnel perhaps, but nobody need know.

I wish you luck, Jams, but it will be a hard fought battle to alter a behavior like this. It would probably be easier just to get him a bus pass to avoid the busy street.

Poor Boris. He doesn't look impressed. Do you not remember as a teenager being told not to do something by your parents because it was too dangerous? Did it not make you all the more determined to find a way to do it?

I'm not sure whether the grounding will work. As a cat he is of course willful and stubborn and very determined. perhaps it IS time to arrange play dates!

Jams

The following message may cause household objects to be thrown at you.

As a traditional man the terms stubborn and determined usually describe someone other than the cat.

Boris is da Man!

And only person who doesn't know a thing about cats can doubt their stubbornness and determination.

Play dates is the answer! Maybe Izzy can come to your house for a sleepover one night soon? :)

If only Izzy lived closer then Boris could visit as he liked!
