The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Wasn't it Calvert who penned and sung this first off with the Hawklords incarnation? Perhaps I'm getting old but that didn't sound quite right.
Hi Chrisit was originally on Quark, Strangeness and Charm just before Hawklords.The original was great but I think the later live versions of this song have their charms too
