The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
These riots are simply evidence of poor people emulating the greed and and avarice of the powerful. It's ludicrous and condescending to suggest modern Britons are less likely to take umbrage than the Greeks.
