Singalongachavez

Perhaps this is an indication that Hugo Chavez is now considering options for his future career: presidential sources have stated that he has just released a CD of traditional folk music/ Titled Canciones de Siempre ( which roughly translates as Songs For All Time), the CD includes tunes that Chavez has sung during his regular Sunday programme Hello, President . At the close of each broadcast, Chavez regularly sings folk songs along with guest musicians and dancers. The CD will be available free in Venezuela.

Sadly I can only find one short clip of him singing. On the basis of this performance perhaps the CD is be intended as an alternative to custodial sentences for minor offenders.

Sources close to the President have also stated that Chavez has plans to follow this release with a collection of duets with world leaders. Although the track listing is yet to be confirmed it is believed that it will feature the following songs

People will say we’re in love - with Fidel Castro

Sometimes when we touch – with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Up where we belong with – with Robert Mugabe; and

With you I’m born again – with George W Bush

Reasonable choices but I would pay good money to hear Chavez and Ahmadinejad sing this one:

Eek! I hope Gordon Brown doesn't go getting ideas. Can you imagine him ending every TV interview, or party political broadcast, with a rendition of Flower of Scotland or Donald, Where's Yer Troosers?

He's kind of a commie lover. I think I'd change that 'Lady In Red' song to :

"Dictator in red, is dancing with me....cheek to cheek. Nobody here, it's just you and me. Thanks to my killing spree!"

LOL EWBL. Chavez is no singer and his grandstanding annoys me intensely, but is he a buthcer? Well no but he keeps unsavoury company. THen again politicians of all stripes glad hand scumbags

Singing aside:
Number of deaths as a direct result of Chavez's politics - zero
Number of deaths as a direct result of Bush/Cheyney 'politics' - thousands!

True he is not butcher, Piseces. What does irritate me is his grandstanding with ver unsavoury figures. I know politicians of all stripes do that but it would be nice if Chavez got teh idea that an enemy's enemy is not likely to be a worthy friend.

This could be a new career for Hugo. He should quit his current job and try something else. He can not do much worse than William Shatner's Album or Vanilla Ice.

Going by the clip he's no worse a singer than the man who played James Tiberius Kirk but that is to be damned with faint praise!
