Before I take my break here is one of a couple of things I couldn't resist posting. This video is by the supremely talented Iranian artist Firoozeh Bazrafkan. Firoozeh lives and works in Denmark.

Will take a break from posting for a little while. There is so much I want to write about, particularly about Hungarian PM Orban and his increasing despotism but I am not in the mood.

Like Aliaa El Mahdy did last year, Gofishteh is making a powerful statement about cultural policies in Iran and particularly the status of women in that country.
The Iranian regime has had a hissy fit and she has basically been told not to return to the country.
Like Aliaa El Mahdy I salute Golshifteh's action. It is her body, her right and her choice.
