The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Under the weather
Robyn has been under the weather. I took him to the vet on Tuesday but mercifully the vet considered him to be in good shape for a cat who is not far off being an eighteen year old!
Maybe Robyn's just fucked off with the state of the country, and as a result is feeling a little depressed. The old boy should go easy on the TV news. Especially Channel 4 - that Jon Snow is enough to make any sentient creature lose the will to live.
Robyn always looks so wise and settled. Such a luxurious fur coat. I'm glad he isn't seriously sick. Maybe winter is hard on him. It is for all old living things...

Ah Nathe's just had some tuna so I get the feeling he is not yet ready to knock at death's door!
Atpresent he is limiting himself to Sky Arts and BBC4 Francis
Claude I think you are right. I hope it is just the winter blues
Weather and politics become very wearisome as the years go by.
Cognac and a good cigar in a leather wingchair by the fire will put him right.
A Montecristo and some 1917 Armagnac and he was fighting fit Bryan!
The Armagnac would be enough for me! Very much needed presently....
Me too Claude!
Well, it's the pressure of old age wisdom. Not that I notice much of that in self.
Haha me neither!
Borris ruined Ted's plan for a coup. All those years of plotting
and nothing to show for it.
Ah Beak, Ted still has his plans
