Photo Hunt - Hot

The theme of this week's PhotoHunt is Hot. Mimi's been told she shouldn't go too near the fire, but does she listen? Does any cat listen to us, except when they think we say food???

Actually it's just sunlight reflecting off her fur, but it looks like she's glowing like embers!

Your poor cats really do have a rough life. I like the reddish reflection of her fur.

Cheers.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad you enjoyed seeing Mimi. She's look at me wanting to be picked up as I type. She can't jump into my lap because of her CH.

It's funny how they always find the hot spots, no matter how inconvenient. Ours knows exactly where the heating pipes under the floorboards.

Lovely photo, Mimi! :) Your fur looks lovely gleaming in the sun!

Memories of Eric and Flynn said...

Your kitty looks very pretty with the sun reflecting on her furrs. We wish we could be with her cuz it's freezing here, and we DON'T LIKE IT!!!

Daisy said...

Sunshine on the furs feels very, very good!

Bad Kitty Cats & Megan said...

She does look very hot and ember like! Of course no kitty cat listens. It's we humans who must listen to them.

Great picture. It's a fantastic shot and shadow and sun play in it! Happy Photo Hunting and Purrs from us!

Gattina said...

Very true ! As proud owner of 5 cats (or rather the other way around) I experience this every day !

Siani said...

Great shot - my moggies are sun worshippers, too. I tried to get a shot of Leo basking in front of the gas fire, but in typical, contrary Leo fashion, he got up and wandered off as soon as I got the camera ready. Have a great weekend, Shaunie!

That's a cool effect and I like it. Neat.

Mimi is a gorgeous cat, and her fur does look like embers!

Mark said...

I sometimes think that all cats do, its such a dogs life..

Katney said...

Of course cats don't listen. that would be absurdly un-catlike.

Anonymous said...

I really thought she is too near a fireplace, but she certainly has a strange glow about her.

Btw,off topic, I got something for you here:

Your cat enjoys sunbathing as much as my doggy :)

Andree said...

Great photo. She is so comfortable there. I know what you mean: my father's cats actually slept UNDER the wood stove. I was always so fearful that they would spontaneously combust but they never did (thank god).

Anonymous said...

i thought she mus b really hot with the light on her fur :)

For a while, I got scared thinking the cat got hurt. I'm so glad it's just a reflection.

Thanks for visiting. Take care!

ohhh i though your cat is dead beacuse of the fire for sure..whew! thats relief..great one for this week.. :) mine up too if you have a chance..

MC Fanon said...

That's a beautiful picture. I may use it as my computer wallpaper. There's a look of peace, even amidst the "flames". Cheers.

jams o donnell said...

THanks everyone. Rest assured I would never put up a photo of an animal suffering. I have to make a confession. though. I did maipulate the light and ciolour levels to make the fire effect look a bit stronger than it really was.

Dave, you are welcome to use it. She is a beautiful little cat who's disability does not stop her living a happy life

Katrin said...

So cute! I bet she is feeling just fine...

Anonymous said...

Whoa! I thought she's really burnt. Good take for this week. Have fun!

Beaman said...

That is one happy cat. She's glowing inside I bet.

Dragonstar said...

Lovely! I had a cat once (many years ago) who insisted on sleeping inside the fender and close to the bars of the coal fire. Nothing would stop her, and she was frequently singed.

jams o donnell said...

She certainly does glow on the inside Beaman! She is disabled (she has Cerebellar Hypoplasia) but she is a loving, if not too bright, little cat.
