The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Enough...
There will be no more political blogging here, not that there's been much of it for a long time.
I have been thinking the same thoughts myself. But in my case it is more commenting on political opinions rather than blogging about them.
A strange set of circumstances in the last couple of months distanced me from anything political. When that door closed other doors opened (unexpectedly)...
I agree with what everyone said. Politics get me down. That doesn't mean I don't read a lot everyday on what's going on in the world, as well as thought-provoking writing, but harboring on it just sucks all the joy and life and humor and patience out of me. I truly feel helpless and depressed.

I find the vast majority of what passes as political debate to be the domain of arseholes
Better things to be bothered with than the spew of lunatics and conspiracy freaks
It's one of those things that once begun has a tendency to flood everything else along its path.
True Susan, it;s been a storm of utter shit spouted by trolls, lunatics and other inadequates
