The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
Wow! First of all, it's a powerful photo. I love it. Second of all, I never would have guessed it was a nephew instead of a niece if you hadn't told us - just shows that we expect to see women in those head-dresses, not men! Great take on the theme Jams!
Ah thank you Annie. I took this photo only a few hours ago and in a bar! I am very pleased how it came out
I like it very much, Jams. I didn't recognise Tim, though. Has Tim had continued contact with a chameleon? What would Sargeant Pluck think?
That is great photo Jams, love the headress, and the fact this is your nephew! Have a great weekend :)
Thanks SE he is one versatile model! Thanks Sue. I am very, very please with this photo
That is a very powerful image!I wouldn't have guessed it was your nephew.
Ah thanks Cherie!
That's a great shot. Your nephew is an excellent model for your photography.
Why thank you! Tim is a superb model
Great image and thought-provoking as well.
Stunning shot. Have you tried a Hijab yourself?
Archie Colin thanks! I've not tried the hijab myself. Tim I think carries the look off better than I would!
Very interesting photo.. I, too, thought it was a woman..
interesting photohoot concept... i wonder how your nephew felt as he wore the hijab...
Stunning shot, love the chains (how symbolic!)covered
impressive! you took this photo in a bar? LOL amazing!
this is brilliant!
Thanks everyone! Tim is a man of many faces and looks. He doesn't mind wearing something that looks like a hijab if it provides a photo that has impact Ian.I have no problem with anyone wanting to wear a hijab. or a veil for that matter, just so long as it is their choice. One thing that amuses me is that covering the face is a thing of modesty given that hair is meant to turn us men on. I will freely admit I love long, flowing hair of the sort Shirley (the not-wife) has but hijabs do not detract from beauty. I find that they often frame a woman's face beautifully
He is cute looks like a model heheh. Happy hunting. Mine is up.
Ah thanks Genegen. Tim is an aspiring model. He is very. very good too but then I am biased as he is my nephew! Thanks Liz. I thing that this one is for my portfolio!
Very good indeed. Very thought-provoking.But perhaps cover him up a bit more before he turns me on?
Next time he'll be in a burqa Androgynous. We don't want your loins all aflame!
That's an interesting way of covering the face. It works well on him.
Why thankyou AA!
Love the photo and how you twisted with the viewer's mind a bit. I agree with Annie - poweerful.Have a great weekend.
Wow. I wouldn't have guessed that was nephew! Captivating!
did you sew the chains on too?
Cool shot, but needs a bicycle chain too for completeness ;-)
What thank you. I have definitely decided that it will be going into my portfolio this shot
