The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Ooooh, I didn't know that a Nigella was a flower variety! I keep thinking about domestic goddess, Nigella Lawson, and then I start thinking about that song, "We're just making plans for Nigel." You see how oddball things can tie together?
Oh yes, Nigella is easy to grow.. It's also called love in a mist..which is faintly rude! The flower being sexual parts and the leaves, such as they are, being reminiscent of pubic hair.. mot that I ahve green hair in that region - nowadays it's grey (sighs)
