The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

while on the subject of cringeworthy lyrics
I wonder if Sarah Brightman cringes at her debut....
ROTFL! Now that's what I call production values... or lack thereof. Somebody found a fog machine backstage, along with some really shabby costumes from some sort of musical production, and said, "say, let's make..."
(A thunderstorm is about to take down my connection. Make of that what you will.)
Hey Steve, the worst just passed the North Side. Our lights went out briefly. It's the night that the lights went out in Houston...... Ahem.
I think it should have been called "Starship POOPERS," because that was a whole lotta crap. I wonder if this is the same crap pile that Andrew Lloyd Webber scraped her out of?
EWBL, I wish I could find a cartoon I once clipped that depicted a couple of mice, dressed to the nines, entering a limousine in front of a Southern plantation mansion. The caption: "That's the night that the mice went out in Georgia."
My power never actually went down. My UPS gives me five or 10 minutes of power even if it does, and the DSL connection usually survives most storms, but this one arrived in several waves, and I wasn't sure if God was angry about those production values on that video. :)
Don't misunderstand me, I really like Sarah Brightman, but, gah, what a wretched beginning to her career.
Patrick Hernandez? THE Patrick Hernandez? Singer of the most lyrically stupid song of all time "Born To Be Alive?" I can hardly wait.
Steve, not a week goes by that we don't lose power or Internet connections at some point. They're doing a lot of construction close to our house, and I think that's the culprit. Although, we frequently had power outages before the construction too. I'm from Indiana, and I vividly recall blizzards and being snowed in, and yet the power and cable never failed. Yet here, any kind of wind and rain obliterates the grid.

LOL it's pretty bad isn't it! Just think that this is where Sarah Brightman started (and perhaps should ahve finished???)
Patrick Hernandez and Divine are forthcoming treats in my disco hell strand!
