The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

REM butcher one of my favourite Robyn Hitchcock songs

I thought the background noise, distracted from the music. It was hard to judge that performance.
It's a louy recording but believe me REM screwed up this song. It was also a "b-side" on Man on the Moon and was terrible
