WW - Toadflax

The tiny flower of Cymbalaria muralis, the ivy leaved toadflax. The flower is about 6mm (less than 1/4 inch). This week's entry for the Tuesday and Wednesday edition of Wordless Wednesday.

That is a very good picture...did you need a special lense to get that picture?

What a strange shape the flowers of ivy-leaved toadflax. From some angles they look like the heads of cartoon rabbits!

What's up, Doc?

Haha Roger. I never thought of that. THanks everyone. I used a macro lens for this shot. Even then I had to crop and resize the image slightly.

It seems to be looking right at us! What a beautiful flower. Is it related to the begonia?

Hi Jams

I too was wondering like Sandy if it is related to the begonia ..the leaves seem so similar.

Great shot !

Thanks everyone. I don;t think it's a relative of the begonia. I could be wrong though

I didn't see the face of a cartoon rabbit but I did think I saw Elsie the Cow. However, it is so wee and precious, so vivid and fragile. Lovely.

Such a pretty little flower should have a nicer name than "toadflax..."
Sounds like a toad with dandruff or something!

i'm just thinking, was it named after a toad? because their shape is similar.
if it is, then i would not have problems kissing toads.
