The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Sometimes I'm tempted to do the same thing when I can't get anyone to scratch my back. :( There's nothing like a roll on the concrete for itching purposes.
Hmm, a quarter reverse tuck with a 90° opposing twist and splayed legs - not a very high score in professional cat sleeping, but then he is a big tom and long-hair, so there will be extra points there.
It is a good way to get rid of fleas and to cool off a bit.
