The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Dead Kennedys - Holiday in Cambodia
I saw the Dead Kennedys back in 1983 when they played at Southampton University. (Robyn Hitchcock or Hawkwind aside of course!) Possibly the best band I ever saw live.. This is one of my all time favourites.

I LOVED that song. And what about Too Drunk etc.....
Must have been the effect of morbid teens all around me, but we listened to them as well as The Dead Milkmen. Okay, I'll admit it, anything with dead or death in the title got a pass.

For me this was one of those great songs of my teens. A lot of their stuff was not good but when they were hot, they were hot!
