This Mortal Coil - Song to the Siren

Another song sung by Liz Fraser. Gotta lover her!

I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet but I just wanted to comment that I didn't know that "Teardrop" was originally an unreleased Cocteau Twins track. Interesting, but it goes a long way towards explaining the appeal of that song. I really think that The Cocteau Twins deserved more recognition here in the 80's instead of acts like Milli Vanilli and Samantha Fox.

"Heaven Or Las Vegas" is one of my all time favorites.

Ah enjoy song to the siren. I love it. I love Teardrop too of course.. I do agree about they not getting as much recognition as they deserved, not that they did badly in the charts here in the UK.

I have one song featuring Sam Fox - A cverion of Gimme Shelter done for charity.. she performed it with Hawkwind! as for the rest of her stuff it was dross!

Hey now jams, even naughty girls need love too!

I heard that on the 80's station yesterday. No, time doesn't actually heal all wounds!

Oh they do.. and because they are naughty perhaps they need a special love!

Last I saw of Sam Fox was briefly on some house makeover prog. Her place was hideous.. I never thought two women could have such atrocious taste!

Two women? I didn't know that she swung that way.

Most hideous thing I've ever seen on a home had to be when we were looking to purchase a house and we walked into this home with fuchsia carpet, turquoise laminate counters, bright purple tile, and zebra print curtains. Even at a young 22, I knew that this was a decorating monstrosity. Just really, really, bad like something a color blind Madam would pick out for her whorehouse. The realtor didn't find anything funny about it and got real snippy with us when we asked if there was a built in allowance for fresh carpet and paint on the home. Ummmm, no, we didn't end up buying that house.

neither did I for that matter! Holy shit, now that is one totally tasteless house.. I wonder if they ever got to sell it except to the National Association for Retro Kitsch!

Jams, painting can go a long way, but what about the counters, carpet, and tile? I used to date a realtor and he told a customer that they needed to paint their ALL PINK WALLED home in order to make it more sellable. He got an excited call from them the next week telling him to come and look and that they followed his advice. He gets there and yes, they did re-paint it, they painted it a DARKER SHADE OF PINK!

As the long suffering girlfriend, emphasis on the suffering, I had to sit through Open House on Saturdays with him. One family had decorated an entire room and bathroom with a Univ. Of Texas Longhorn theme. Well, nearly every single person who walked through the house that day was a Texas A&M Aggie Alumni who couldn't see past their rivalry feelings to even consider buying the house. *sigh* I'm glad that I'm not in real estate, commission work sucks.

Oh my god.. people can be so, so, so...... well there's no accounting for taste. Or as one who I was once romantically attached to would put it: "all their taste is in their mouth"

Realters = Estate Agents here. Estate Agents are not well regarded.. a bit below politicians and a bit above paedophules!.. The university rivalry seems strange to my eyes.. Oxford v Cambridge perhaps.. but I am not sure Southampton (my alma mater) had any strong rivals.. ah well! Perhaps the moral of the story is make your decor neutral and bland!
