The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Robyn Hitchcock - Birdshead
Robyn performing one of his lesser (but still better than most things written imho!) songs with Peter Buck out of REM
I heard a Robyn song this morning on XM, it's a pretty rare occurence and everytime I hear one I think of your Robyn obsession jams! I didn't like it at all, the title was too long for the display but it included the words, "This Man." No, it was not catchy and impressive like other Robyn songs they play.
Absolutely mullets, it is very good. It was probably the Man with the Lightbulb head ewbl... Very much acquired taste Robyn! I would also recomend you avoid The Furry Green Atom Bowl and Do Policemen Sing too!!

Looking forward to January when Robyn is back in London. I'll be there!
