The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Photo Hunt - Tiny
Tiny is the theme of this week's Photo Hunt. so here goes:
A single bloom on a Buddelia.
A bumble bee getting a snack from teasel flowers
Tiny? well in both cases the blooms are pretty small...
Wow...the flowers are really tiny and beautiful. It fits this week's theme. That bumblebee did give the extra touch to the shot. Well done. Wishing you a calm, happy and lovely weekend! http://crizlai.blogspot.com/2007/07/photo-hunters-tiny.html
I checked out your picture of the white Misumena vatia (a new term for me). I like how it stood out on the pink flower. My yellow one stayed on the sunflower all season last year while it was in bloom and then after it started to fade. I keep checking the garden this year but haven't seen any others yet.
Purple flowers are my fav!!! I really like these photos! You live so close to Madurodam - you'd love photoing this 'tiny' spot on this earth - you ought to plan a holiday venture there!!! Well worth it! grins,
OBTW - please vote for me at http://www.benspark.com/xshotvote.html THANX
I love your photos! They are always a surprise...I am amazed at that macro lens...not that I even know what that is lol...Great photos though! My photo is up, please come and visit
I hope folks take the time to see the large versions. The flowers are actually fuzzy under the bloom. The bumble bee? It looks so soft that you think you could cuddle it!

TN Chick. not a zoom but a macro lens and a ring flash - Money well spent as they have allowed me to get some really pleasing close up shots!

Your macro shots are always really great.
Thanks all for your kind words
Those shots are beautiful! And you were very brave to get so close to the bumble bee.
I wish *my* buddelia looked like this. It looks a bit twiggy at the moment!
Have a great weekend.

I never thought of a bumbleBEE as BEEing BEEautiful BEEfore.
He looks cute suckling on that tiny flower!

You always have such great pictures and this week is no exception!

These are beautiful! I think I need to splurge on a macro lens!
Perfect shot!! I love how much detail you can see!
Never thought of a buddelia being tiny before - but I see what you mean:). Buddelias grow like weed round here. Teasels don't do too badly either.
Wow! The second one with the bee is great! Very tiny flower!!
I hope folks take the time to see the large versions. The flowers are actually fuzzy under the bloom. The bumble bee? It looks so soft that you think you could cuddle it!
Beautiful photos! Wonderful colours and incredible detail. Lovely.
