The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
A very interesting photograph that holds my interest well :)Looks great in B&W too!
I guess we both like black and white. I first thought this was a photo of beached whales. I'm very glad to know it isn't! The movement of the people as opposed to the constant of the rocks is quite interesting.~~~Blessings~~~
nice BW shot!
Very weird and interesting shot.
What a fantastic shot, I can't even really work it out.
Wow, very interesting shot.

Interesting picture.I would love to see this on in color as well. Ireland is one of those places I really would love to visit but haven't made it there yet. Perhaps someday.

That looks like it should be a poster or wall print. It's nice!
That is such a unique and interesting picture. Fabulous shot!
Wow, that's really interesting!
For a moment I thought it was a watercolour painting of sorts.. wow really really nice shot!
I couldn't figure out what this photo was at first...and I'm still not entirely sure, but I like it! Happy WW!

Great pic. Im not sure what the people are doing or where they are but it made me stop and stare..Happy WW:)
This took me some time. Interesting B&W shot!
That's quite a compelling image, Jams. It really holds the eye.
Perfect capture... interesting one for WW! Have a grea day!
Great photo. The stones form the shape of a tree, and at the same time seem to blend in the figures in an abstract way. Well done!
I am still wondering what I am actually seeing... fascinating shot!
It looks as if the water falls apart !
beautiful, is that the real thing or photoshoped?my entry is heresweet..pretty..naughtyMemory FilledSweety tots
I'm trying to figure out what's on the beach. Lovely photo that grabs my attention.
Okay, now I have to go out to Google and see if I can read more on the "Inch Strand". You've piqued my interest with THIS photo. There is a creepy creature of the crypt 'hanging out at our place'...come over to see, if you dare! Happy Wednesday to you.
Can't imagine what is on this shot. Are that rocks lying in the sea and peeping their heads out about the water. Well will go and look up Inch Strand. Perhaps I will understand then.Have a nice day.
Hi Jams,Wow this is very interesting. you just want to keep staring at it.You certainly found a great one to post.I also love the black and white...great choice!!http://shinade.blogspot.com/2008/10/wordless-wednesday-opal-of-time.htmlHappy WW:-) Lol..and Tuesday!!
What a great shot. So desolate and inviting all at once. Beautiful.
Not sure what I'm looking at...oh wait...it's a jetty, yes? Wonderful shot!
Neat, makes me want to blow it up and frame it just for further exploration ;).
lovely shot!Here's my entry. Thanks!
Nice shot Jams. Does it look like that or is there a little bit of tweaking making it look so deep?
That's tryly amazing!! Love the photo.
That's an incredible photo!
Very nice shot in b/w. The photo appears endless and cold. It's a big world out there :o) I like the composition a lot.
Interesting shot.. intriguing.. almost looks like it has gone through some photoshopping. Very cool. Happy WW!
It's almost like a dream... reminds me of the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
THanks everyone. I must admit I have tweaked this image - small alterations to light balance and contrast. I also distorted the image by making it slightly concave.
Hi Jams, this is a wierd picture. Is it right out of the lens or changed some?I hope your WW was nice, it seemed to be with 46 comments. Sorry I'm running late...
HI Jim. THanksYes it was tweaked a bit - teh light balance some distortion.
