The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
Hadn't really thought of that aspect - the poets will be in full cry.
I would not be surprised, Although I can only read it in translation, Persian poetry from Rumi to Behbahani is sublime
THanks Cherie. It is, I choked when I first heard it
Makes goosebumps...And awe-inspiring that voices like this can be heard around the world where in the past they would be crying out and not be heard. Sad that they cry out and their own people choose not to hear them or, worse, try to silence them.I Twittered it, Facebooked and added it to my blog, too. Thanks, jams...
Thanks Anneke the more who see it the better
Yes, it brought tears to my eyes.
I am not surprised it is so moving
