The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
Best Wishes to your Dad. Such a fine gentleman. Hard to believe that he was old enough to fight in WW2. Thanks to people like him we have enjoyed freedom all those years. Give him a grateful hug from an old Canadian lady who hopes to reach 85, and more, as well as he does.
Ah Claude he was 15 when he joined the RAF (with a forged birth cert). He is not quite as sharp as he was - when it comes to some ting but he's in reasonably good shape for his age. I am sure that you will be here for a long time yet Claude!

That is wonderful. Happy birthday to him. Great portrait.
I hope my mother makes it to 85. She turned 80 after a lot of dust settled health-wise and is really doing great.
And a good week to you, Jams.
Thanks Sphinx. He's in reasonable shape even if judo is a distant memory! Here's hoping our parents will be around for a good while yet
Happy Birthday to you father :-)
