I don;t know how I missed this news but Vidal Sassoon died yesterday aged 84. Sassoon is best known as a hair stylist but in his youth he was a true anti fascist. Althuogh too young to see service in WWII he was a member of the 43 Group, a group formed by Jewish ex-servicemen to counter the activities of fascist groups such as Mosley's Union Movement, that sprang up after WWII. He later travelled to Israel and joined Hagganah, seeing active service in the first Arab-Israeli war.
Jn the 1980s he founded the http:Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Rest in peace Vidal, the world is a poorer place for your passing

RIP Vidal. You did good and well. You'll be remembered.
Wow, he reached 84 gracefully and doing what he enjoyed. What an excellent example of how people could approach life. So long.
He had a full life, no doubt, Claude
He had all we could wish for in that respect, Sandra
That's interesting, jams. I didn't know that about him.
He was more than a hairdresser!
