The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
I love photos when bees land on the flowers. I don't know the echinop. Don't know if they are here in New Zealand.
I bet some people grow it but it is native to Europe

It is a very lightweight bumblebee. Most of them look like they shouldn't be able to get off the ground!Love the photo.
