The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Photo Hunt - Standing
The theme for the week's Photo Hunt is standing. This is a standing stone, part of the Knocknakilla stone circle in County Cork, Ireland
I like the black and white approach on the photo. Good balance in the composition also with the diagonal. I like some of your recent photos also. Very atmospheric.

That is an interesting stone. Happy hunting. Mine is up too.
It could be said it's a dancing stone stopped in mid pirouette.
Great fins for the theme.

Thanks everyone. YTSL am sure that the builders had that in mind, especially since the Paps are not many miles away!

It looks drunk, barely standing.
Very cool shot! This was my first time participating in the Photohunt :)

You are so lucky to have so much ancient history available to you...
No doubt been standing for a while.
Oh. Uh... so you mean it's not an ancient surfing board then. OK.
What a cool photo! I had to do a double-take on the picture to check it out more closely. Perfect for the theme!
the black and white make it look very eerie!
