The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.
It is -3F and last night there were windchills 30 below. Earl the cat is a houseguest when the tempts drop or a huge storm approaches. He has been in for a month and looks like he will be here longer. He doesn't even go into the hall.
There are snow drifts that are seven feet high. Yet even in this artic mix nature survives.
Nature always fnds a way doesn't it? Jeus I am very, very glad tp be where I am. warmed by the Gulfstream! Bearing in mind I ,ust be on a more northerly latitude I shudder to think what NW Eaurope would be like without it
