Spizzenergi - Where's Captain Kirk?

I hadn't thought about Spizz in a while until Skuds mentioned that they are playing in London on Wednesday. Sadly I can't go, perhaps next time. Where's Captain Kirk is one of those wonderfully memorable songs from my teens.... Now to find the Notsensibles and I'm in love with Margaret Thatcher!

I have the Notsensibles 7" up in the loft somewhere - but have it on a compilation or two...

Ironically I can't get to North London on Wednesday because I have an all-day meeting in South London and will be car-sharing a company pool car so have to return to Sussex afterwards.

Drop Spizz an e-mail via his website and I'm sure he will let you know the next time they are on anywhere.

BTW, that film is of Spizzsexual playing in 1987 (I think) but the sound quality was so poor on that track another version was dubbed onto it. By the time I caught up with the band again in about 1989 they had dropped the semi-naked dancing girls.

Thanks, I'll have to keep a watch for further Spizz concerts. These days the only artists I go out to see are Hawkwind and Robyn Hitchcock.. oh and John Foxx. A bit of diversity is needed methinks!

At 4:39 A.M. this morning, I heard SPARKS "So Important," and........I liked it. Then station XM 44 had to ruin the goodness by following it up with an Elvis Costello song.

That song was something! However my favorite Star Trek reference in a song comes from The Refreshments' Bandito. They use Jean Luc Picard's and the United Federation's good name on a fake ID. The blasphemy!
