On the matter of my uncle I was glad to find out earlier that the oral morphine the doctor prescribed on Thursday is working and he is sleeping far more comfortably of a night. Oncology on Tuesday where we will find out what is proposed. Whatever is proposed will be aimed at quality of life rather than cure.

Whilst undergoing chemo there is no quality of life...

So the treatment has to justify the quality of life after the treatment and the difference in life expectancy with or without the treatment.

I have been down this route, so I know the questions have to be asked...

I worked with chemotherapy patients. And Cherie is right.

Great that your Uncle is getting proper sedation with good result.
Tough time for the family. Thinking of all of you...

Thanks Claude. The one I worry most about is my mum. She has lost her other brother only a few months ago. I am not sure how she will react to the loss her last sibling

It's so hard, Jams, in one's old age, to lose your family members and your friends. I never thought I would be so affected. Still have two sisters, one at 96, the other at 85. They seem to be healthy. But I just lost my last "old timer" friend, a few days ago. I said to my son, "The only friends I have now are my blogs and Facebook people." Thank God, you're all much younger than I am. And you're so kind and warm hearted towards me.

Your family is in my thoughts, Jams. Tough time for all of you.

That's true. Most of mum and da's friends are dead now.All of dad's siblings have died too. It's life I know, but it is all new territory for me
