The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

These are beautiful photos. I especially like the way the reflections in the water merge with the horses' manes. Really stunning light.
Beautiful beasts, it's like Gracie & Dylan with a mane . . .lol
Wow, these are so beautiful, such regal creatures! Wonderfully captured!

Give that horse a shave. I wonder if Ted is planning on enslaving the horses in his diabolical plan for global conquest. Do they run the Get Fuzzy comic in the UK.
What lovely shots of grand creatures! Is the butterscotch colored one sticking its tongue out at you in the second picture?Happy WW!
Horseys! I like. Happy WW.
They look wild too. The gray one was a little skinny. Happy WW!
How lovely! You were right in your movie guess at The Twinkies - the quote is from the Maltese Falcon.
I'm absolutely in love with the first shot.
One of my favorite things about living in Britain is the right of way through pasture lands and the horses you often run across. Port Meadow in Oxford is great for that! Nice shots.
Beautiful horses. Great places to graze and roam about.
Those are great photos. Really caught the horses dead-on.

Oooh, the horse with the platinum mane is so beautiful! The other horse has handsome colors but looked skinny...was it because he was moving?
Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing :)
Beautiful horses. They were always my favorite animals as a child but then again, what little girl doesn't want a horse?? Thanks for visiting!
A horse is a horse, of course, of course. And nobody can talk to a horse, of course, unless that horse is the famous Mr. Ed!I presume that these beauties were just photogenic and not talkative as well.
I asked one if i could talk. It said nay....
