Failing the Rugby Test.

I won’t even start talking about Norman Tebbit’s old cricket test: It’s not a case of not supporting England in test matches, I don’t have the slightest interest in a game that can last five days and still end in a draw. Okay it has a few great moments but an awful lot of bloody tedious hours.

Even though I was forced to play Rugby at school I do enjoy watching a good match and I do hope tomorrow’s England – Ireland match will be a good one. As for which side I’ll be wanting to win? The following badge will give a clue:

Whatever the result, the match will be a moment of history.

Come on you boys in Green!

And sadly some controversy. On the other hand the vast majority of people are looking forward to a great game.. I know I am!

There will be controversy, for sure. But isn't great that after 700 years of killing each other, we're now at the point where it's just verbal abuse?

If I'd said ten years ago they'd be playing GSTQ at Croke Park within the decade you'd think I was a looper. Now it's less than 24 hours away...

No love for Cricket eh? I must say, being an American and generally uneducated on the subject of Rugby, I was a bit hesitant to play it when I was a student in the UK. But then, I realized what made the game so great: booze. A whole day of hitting a ball with a bat, making fun of your chums, and drinking was the game I was meant to play!

God Bless Cricket.

Adrian, I am glad how times have changed. History cannot be unmade but it should not be a chain. Here's hoping it will be a great game with a clear Irish victory!

No love at all Roland. Cricket used to have a function in the past when the pubs shut in the afternoon but all day drinking meant that cricket lost all meaning!

There are a lot of sports that I don't care for.. American football is one of them. I wish that hurling was played more widely. Now that IS an exciting game!
