Place your bets on the next celeb to ditch Scientology

My heart really bleeds for the Church of Scientology at the moment. First we saw the departure of director Paul Haggis, then they get done for fraud in France.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Anything that embarrasses the pack of money grabbing charlatans is fine by me

If having a laugh a Scientology is not enough, you can now have a flutter on who will be the next celeb to leave the good ship L Ron Hubbard, courtesy of betting firm Paddy Power .

The hot favourite to jump is John Travolta at 9/4 (given the way that Battlefield Earth just about wrecked his second stag at stardom, I'm surprised he hasn't quit already)

Katie Holmes is at 3/1, Lisa Marie Presley gets 4/1, Priscilla Presley 8/1, Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson) is at 12/1, hideously overrated musician Beck is at 18/1 while Tom Cruise himself is a long shot at 50/1.

This is message was brought to you by the Church of Siontology.

Things like this, based n a false premise, cannot be sustained.

O dear! O dear! The thought of all those non-operational Thetans is just too tragic to bear!

I bought a copy of Battlefield Earth for a euro in my local charity shop, and feel obliged to say that it is a masterpiece of utter stupidity. Like an onion, it has layer upon layer of stupidity! One never gets to the end of it... Ed Wood's spirit lives on in that movie.

I couldn't agree with you more! I'm reading a book on cults, secret societies, etc. I guess there's an idiot somewhere that will join just about anything!
I took the test - I fell a little to the right of center (not surprisingly) and just a tad below center on libertarian. I guess I'm either a "Casper Milquetoast," or undecided on a lot of those questions. I didn't go to college, so my ability to speak intelligently on a lot of those positions is very lacking. My bad, huh? Truthfully, I thought I'd be more on Thatcher's side, but definitely libertarian. Fascinating!

Hi Jams

I'm with Mama Dramatist on her comment. Plus Katie gets my vote to leave next.

It has been many years, but I still haven't quite recovered from Battlefield Earth. It is an object (or abject) lesson in how not to make a film. Approached in an Ed Wood spirit, as Doubtful suggests, is the only way to enjoy it. There is something gloriously inept and wrong-headed in virtually every scene.

Jerry Seinfeld dabbled in Scientology, but I don't think he stayed interested for long.

What qualifications do I need to take over the "church"? Let's see, I'm good with chickens...

Well I for one am shocked by the lack of empathy at the plight of our charlatan chums at the Church of shiteology!

on the other hand the lying thieveing wankers deserve all the embarrassment that can be heaped on them!

"Wanker" is such an excellent British term. Being the child of Brits, I have long been familiar with it, and I enjoy spreading it amongst my Canadian friends.

And yer right about the church of shiteology and what they deserve...

It's a great word isn't it!

I had to check: when I mentioned Scientology in a post within hours I had a rebutting comment. Oh no, wait, that might have been Jehovah's witnesses!

ALthough the shiteologists can be pretty nasty when crossed too I hear.
